99 S10 loses Overdrive (4th gear) when driving for periods?

If I drive 1-2 hours the transmission drops out of 4th and into 3rd on the highway. The transmission is acting like its overheating, If I stop for 15 minutes for it to cool it shifts perfect. Thanks for your Help it is 1999 Chevy S10 4 cylinder.
