Some people will have problems with fatty foods following a gall bladder operation. The purpose of the gallbladder is to hold bile which is needed to break down fats so that they can be digested. Once the gallbladder has been removed, the body has to learn to produce the bile and secrete it into the small intestine on demand. Most people have some stomach problems, including diarrhea, until their body readjusts.
